At Kearsley Academy, we are Readers!

Northern Education Trust Kearsley Academy is introducing its Reading Routes program from all Year 7 and 8 students to encourage a love of reading, and develop independent reading opportunities.

All students in Year 7 have been invited to choose their favourite Comedy Central book from a choice of 5 (Witch Watch, The Falcon’s Malteser, The Boy at the Back of the Class, Dog Zombies Rule and The Ice Monster) and Year 8 have been invited to choose their favourite Adventure book from a choice of 5 (The House with the Chicken Legs, Around the World in 80 Days, The Colour of the Sun, Where the World Ends and Boy 87).

In support of our students, all staff at Kearsley Academy have also selected a book from one of the Reading Routes, so that we can engage fully with students with their reading and immerse ourselves in their favourite books.

Our student books will soon be arriving to the Academy for our students to collect their choice and begin their exciting journey to ‘read a full route’ of books.

We can’t wait to talk to our students about all the exciting things our characters get up to!
