Year 8 Football

The second half of the football season is well under way here at Kearsley Academy and the fixtures are being played thick and fast. This week our Year 8 football team played their first ever home football fixture on the new 3G pitch in front of supportive parents and teachers. The team played against Sharples School and were the dominant team throughout the game. A change in formation prior to the game invigorated a sensational team performance resulting in a 10-0 victory.

The quality of the football from both teams was amazing to watch with all team members playing with pride and passion. Our students passed the ball around with confidence and fluidity which opened up Sharples’ defence on several occasions. There was an array of goal scorers on Thursday evening coming from players from different positions on the pitch; certainly pleasing news from a manager’s perspective!

The result means that the Year 8 football team have carried on their 100%-win rate in the league this season and are closing in on a league title! An outstanding league campaign so far.

Like always, our students represented our school in a fantastic manner on and off the field displaying a professional performance. A huge well done to all the students in the Year 8 football team and long may this amazing form continue!
